Microneedling involves creating microchannels in the skin using the finest, sterile needles. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin to produce more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid—essential components for firm, smooth, and even-toned skin. Depending on the treatment goal, I use highly concentrated serums with hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, peptides, exfoliants, or active ingredients to combat pigmentation spots, redness, or blemishes. These active ingredients are introduced directly through the opened microchannels during the treatment and unfold their effect in the deeper layers of the skin.

After treatment, your skin may be slightly reddened – similar to sun exposure – but this redness usually subsides within 24 hours. What is medical microneedling and how does it work?
In medical microneedling, fine, sterile needles are used to create targeted microchannels in the skin. This stimulates the natural regeneration process: Your skin begins to produce more collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. The result is visibly smoother, firmer, and finer-pored skin.
Unlike cosmetic microneedling, which aestheticians usually only work on very superficial skin layers, medical microneedling—like the one I offer at PrimaDopo in Lucerne—allows for individually adjustable penetration depths into deeper skin layers. This allows even more complex skin problems such as acne scars, deep wrinkles, or pigmentation disorders to be treated more specifically and effectively. The treatment is performed using medically approved devices—for maximum safety and lasting results.
Which skin problems can be treated?
Microneedling is ideal for treating fine lines and wrinkles, acne or surgical scars, enlarged pores, pigmentation disorders, sun-damaged skin, and the onset of sagging skin. Specific active ingredients can also be incorporated to specifically improve redness, blemishes, or dark spots.
Can the treatment be individually tailored to my skin type?
Yes, of course. Upon request, I work with special, highly effective premium serums that are infused into the deeper layers of the skin directly during the treatment. These include, for example, highly concentrated hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, exosomes, or active ingredients to combat pigmentation spots and redness – precisely tailored to your personal skin goals.
Is the treatment painful?
Most of my patients find the treatment to be bearable—often describing it as a slight tingling sensation. An anesthetic cream is usually not necessary.
What will my skin look like immediately after the treatment?
The skin is usually slightly reddened – comparable to a mild sunburn. Depending on your skin's sensitivity, the redness will subside within 24 to 48 hours. You'll usually be able to socialize again quickly.
How many sessions are necessary for visible results?
Even after the first treatment, your skin will appear fresher, plumper, and more even-toned. For lasting results, I recommend three to five sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. I will personally guide you and tailor each session to your skin's current condition.
How long does the effect last?
The skin benefits long-term from the new collagen production. Depending on skin type, age, and lifestyle, the effect can last for several months. Regular top-ups—about 2–3 times per year—help maintain the results.
